Blue Canyon Lakes Course is another award winner by renowned architect, Yoshikazu Kato. With his familiar trademark design Mr Kato has again excelled in creating a course of natural beauty and challenging. This Phuket golf course is the sister course to Blue Canyon Country Club and is also mix of canyons filled with water from abandoned open cast tin mining, coming into play on 17 holes.
The course winds its way over the natural curvature of the land and through rubber plantations, the Lakes Course is a combination of stunning natural landscape and ingenious design.
It is important to have any chance of scoring well to drive the fairways accurately. Many of the approach shots played are over small streams and creeks running across the fairways.
The quality of the course is at least on par in comparison with the Canyon course after being totally renovated and further upgraded in 2006.

Laguna Phuket Golf Club formerly the Banyan Tree has won a string of awards for its golf course, club house and resort facilities, recent renovations work and design by Max Wexler and David Abels have transformed it into a first-rate golfing experience.
Placing more sand bunkers, adding water hazards have forced golfers to play more accurate shots with their iron play. The greens relatively large and welcoming have been rebuilt to make them truer and faster to add more spice to the short game. The rolling fairways on this par 71 18 hole Laguna Golf Course gently wind their way through groves of coconut palms, tranquil lagoons with water featuring on 13 holes, you will be severely punished for wayward play.
For those interested in long drives you are able to cut a few corners, giving you more time to look at panoramic views of lush green hills leading out to Bang Tao Bay in the Andaman Sea. The finishing 2 holes, both par fives, are the most challenging the monster 612 yard 17th, requiring you to play at least twice over water and the 527 yards par five 18th hole are definitely a challenge to finish your round with a respectable score.

Loch Palm was formerly known as The Phuket Century Country Club is charming and carved around the natural environment that Loch Palm has to offer and is surely a challenge to all golfers ability.
Loch Palm golf Course is still one of Phuket’s most popular and enjoyable golf courses. In danger of being overshadowed by the new Red Mountain recently completed a major new design upgrade. The 18 hole par 72 6,555 yards is located surrounded by panoramic view of hills. The first nine holes are tree lined shady palms around a sizeable Crystal lake, so keeping your ball out of the water is the main objective. Loch Palm still throws down many challenges but the fairways on the first nine holes are less undulating and easier to handle. The short par-5 2nd hole may test your nerves around the waters edge.
The back-nine are tighter and more undulating, short downhill par-4 10th. The equally tight and challenging par-5 11th is lined by many new villas on the left side of the hole. One of the best holes is the par-3 14th, played downhill to a green surrounded on three sides by water. Smoothly rolling slopes and exciting changes in elevation, taking you over plateaus and across ravines Loch Palm is a joy to play.
The course is always in top playing condition, golf carts are available on request. The club house serves good Thai food at reasonable prices. The locker rooms are a little small and entrances are positioned next to the eating areas. Loch Palm has a driving range on the lake so before your round hit a few practice balls and enjoys the novelty.
RED MOUNTAIN GOLF CLUB • PHUKET • THAILAND
Red Mountain Golf Club Phuket 18 hole golf course opened in 2007. Located next to Loch Palm Golf Club in Kathu its fairways twist over old abandoned tin mines and over lush hills making this course a dramatic addition to the Phuket Golf scene. Designer Jonathan Morrow using the landscape has ensured that every golfer will experience a different variety of natural hazards. Deep ravines, waste bunkers and flooded gullies, while taking a roller coast ride through spectacular scenery, gorges and the most dramatic elevation changes creating fantastic views.
Red Mountain Golf Course is now considered Phuket’s most demanding and spectacular golf course. The course was designed to take advantage of a huge variety of land-forms and dramatic elevation changes, making it Phuket’s hilliest course constantly playing from uneven lies. One hole at Red Mountain drops an incredible 40m from tee to green, taking golf in Phuket to a new level. The putting surfaces remain fast and true all the year with the new shade-tolerant Bermuda hybrid grass. With the torrential downpours in rainy season great care is taken with the drainage to make sure the fairways are in perfect condition.
Located almost in the center of Phuket Island makes this course most accessible to those staying in the highly populated Patong and Karon beach areas. Approximately 20 minutes is needed to get to and from the course which makes it a real possibility for an early morning round ready to spend the rest of the day with the family. Mission Hills Golf Resort and Spa 18 hole, par 72 course is 6,806 yards in length. Set on the North Eastern coast of Phuket , the ocean comes into play on 7 holes and with the variable changes in sea breeze, making certain times of the day a twist to every game. Phuket Country Club is the longest established golf course in Phuket. Located conveniently between Phuket Town and Patong beach, smoothly rolling through a valley of hills, forests and limestone cliffs. Phuket Country Club’s Old Course was the first championship standard 18-hole golf course built here on Phuket Island. It is located centrally and can easily be reached from any of the main beach and hotel areas.
Over the years after hosting a string of National tournaments this course has become a popular with Thai tourists providing the perfect game for high-handicappers . The Championship tees can also be very challenging for those with low handicaps on this 18 hole, par 72, 6,484 yards length course.
The Country Club is known as a friendly resort golf course, not punishing the high handicappers but at the same time giving the low handicappers quite a challenge. The most famous golf hole in Phuket is the 10th. From an elevated tee box, you are able to see 180 degrees around a u-shaped fairway laid out around a large lake. Each golfer can decide how to play this hole, long hitters can go straight for the green possibly giving themselves a chance of an albatross or even a hole-in-one. This hole definitely can make or break your round claiming dozens of balls daily. Also the island green par-3 17th is known as one of the best short holes in Phuket The practice area is open to the public if you are looking for a golf training facility on the island. The clubhouse is in need of renovations to bring it up to standard with other golf courses.
The new 9-hole course is typically reserved for members and is also used as the back nine to the Old Course 2 times a month, every other Wednesday when 9 holes of the old course under go regular maintenance.
